East Paulding Raiders Varsity Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat South Paulding
East Paulding Raiders Varsity took the lead late and defeated South Paulding 12-8 on Monday. The game was tied at eight with the Raiders batting in the bottom of the sixth when Ansleigh Broome grounded out, scoring one run. There was plenty of action on the basepaths as East collected nine hits and South Paulding had 14.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, East tied things up at eight. Addie Heal hit a solo homer. The Raiders put up seven runs in the second inning. Madi Curtis, Hawn, Graci Summers, Broome, Heal, and Cayden Warren each had RBIs in the big inning.
South Paulding scored four runs in the fifth inning. #16, #4, and #17 each drove in runs during the inning.
Rena Fraga led the East Paulding to victory in the circle. Fraga allowed five hits and one run over two and a third innings, striking out two. #11 was in the circle for South Paulding. The pitcher surrendered six runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. #9 threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bri Cazares started the game for East Paulding. The righthander allowed nine hits and seven runs over four and two-thirds innings, walking zero.
East launched three home runs on the day. Heal went yard in the fifth inning. Warren went deep in the second and sixth innings. The Raiders racked up nine hits. Summers, Kayla Berry, and Warren each collected multiple hits for East. Warren, Berry, and Summers each collected two hits to lead East Paulding Raiders Varsity. South Paulding totaled 14 hits. #12, #18, #7, #16, and #5 all had multiple hits for the Spartans.
