East Paulding Raiders JV’s Early Lead Over Sequoyah Sets Stage For Victory
East jumped out to an early lead over Sequoyah High JV (Canton, GA) and took home a 5-3 victory on Friday. The Raiders JV scored on a walk by Macey Strickland, a walk by Carson Brown, and a single by Savannah Keller in the first inning. Austyn Barber earned the win for East Paulding. Barber went three innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out two.
T Butler took the loss for Sequoyah. The hurler allowed four hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. M Newport started the game for Sequoyah – The pitcher lasted one-third of an inning, allowing zero hits and four runs.
Keller went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the Raiders in hits. C Todd led Sequoyah with two hits in two at bats. Sequoyah didn’t commit a single error in the field. Newport had three chances in the field, the most on the team.
