East Paulding Raiders defeated South Paulding 4-2 on Wednesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with East batting in the top of the ninth when Ansleigh Broome doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
The Raiders fired up the offense in the second inning, when Reagan Waller hit a solo homer. In the bottom of the sixth inning, South Paulding tied things up at two. Grace McTyre doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. After East Paulding scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Spartans answered with one of their own. East scored when Cayden Warren grounded out, scoring one run. South Paulding then answered when an error scored one run for the Spartans.
Rena Fraga led the Raiders to victory in the circle. Fraga allowed five hits and two runs over nine innings, striking out three.
Taylor Daniel was in the circle for South Paulding. The hurler surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Katelyn Munoz threw five innings out of the bullpen.
East Paulding hit one home run on the day. Waller put one out in the second inning. The Raiders tallied 11 hits on the day. Broome and Graci Summers all managed multiple hits. Summers and Broome each managed three hits to lead East.
South Paulding was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Grace McTyre made the most plays with nine.
