East Paulding Grabs Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat North Paulding
The Raiders stole the lead late and defeated North Paulding 7-6 on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with the Raiders batting in the top of the seventh when Ansleigh Broome hit a solo homer.
A four-run lead in the seventh inning was just enough for East to hold off North for the victory. The Wolfpack scored two runs in the failed comeback on a double by #8 and a double by #4. North Paulding got on the board in the first inning. The Cougars scored one run when #27 singled.
Abby Pendergrass led the East Paulding Raiders to victory on the rubber. The righty allowed ten hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. #3 led things off in the pitcher’s circle for North Paulding. The Cougar pitcher went six and a third innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking zero. #7 threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.
The Raiders tallied four home runs on the day. Broome had a four bagger in the seventh inning. Kayla Berry had a long ball in the seventh inning. Madi Curtis had a homer in the seventh inning. Cayden Warren went yard in the fourth inning. East racked up ten hits in the game. Warren, Hannah Davis, Addie Heal, and Curtis each racked up multiple hits. Curtis, Heal, Davis, and Warren all had two hits to lead the Raiders.
North Paulding had ten hits in the game. #19, #4, and #27 all had multiple hits for North Paulding.
