East Paulding Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Carrollton
East Paulding Raiders defeated the Carrollton Trojans 7-1 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with the Raiders batting in the top of the sixth when Addie Heal homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. East secured the victory thanks to four runs in the seventh inning. Raiders big bats were led by Amberleigh Hawn, Ansleigh Broome, and Cayden Warren, all driving in runs in the inning.
In the second inning, East Paulding Raiders got their offense started when Reagan Waller grounded out, scoring one run. The Carrollton Trojans knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the third inning, when #12 doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
East Paulding scored four runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught by the Raiders was led by Hawn, Broome, and Warren, who all drove in runs. Abby Pendergrass was the winning pitcher for East Paulding Raiders Varsity. The pitcher allowed seven hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. The Raiders hit one home run on the day – Heal put one out in the sixth inning.
East totaled ten hits in the game. Hawn, Broome, Graci Summers, and Warren each racked up multiple hits for the Raiders. Warren, Summers, Broome, and Hawn all had two hits to lead the team. Carrollton racked up seven hits in the game. #10 and #8 each had multiple hits for the Trojans.
